Rock Beach
Rock beach is located just exactly at end of whitetwon. No cars are allowed on the beach road, but cars are allowed the adjacent streets. So you have to park you car in adjacent street and walk to rock beach. A long 2 KM stretch with no motors and free to walk. You have the famous Mahatma Gandhi Status in this beach, and the old light house used during the French rule.
Pondy Marina Sand Beach
Marina beach is a newly developed area with a large sand beach and a leisure park, with food courts, lawns, vast car park, many small small attractions for kids. In the below picture you can see the aerial view of Pondy Marina. There are many activities organised here, like horse riding, paragliding, water activities, parties etc. This sand beach is located on the same coast line to rock beach and it is nor far. you can walk or go by car as well.

This place is not in Pondy but a near by location.
I would say its 1h30minutes drive at the max.
This place is an absolute beauty with superb mangrove trees along the river.
There are boats that take you into in the river alongside the trees and its just stunning.
This is also a most underrated/unknown spot not very far from Pondy.
